GREEN STREET PROGRESS

Workplace Description:

Nature Play Australia is a family run business and was founded in 2002, after Irene observed the success of Nature Play in New Zealand, where it all began. Irene has a passion for sharing her knowledge with the community about the importance of sustainable natural toys in child's play, while offering beautiful toys and products to many wonderful people who love them just as much as she does.

In 2009 Nature Play expanded from being a solely web based business to opening a physical store in the beautiful village of Samford which is approx 20k's northwest from the Brisbane CBD.

Although we stock products from 'Fair Trade Co-ops' and other sources internationally, wherever possible the products sold by Nature Play are primarily handmade and locally sourced. It is very important to us to support local craft artisans and offer predominantly Australian made products.

Nature Play Australia - Staying with our theme this month of Getting in the Garden, Nature Play is pleased to announce that on Friday Sept 30 from 10.30 -11am we will have local identity Peter Kearney (City Foodgrowers) as guest speaker on the topic of 'How Gardening develops Your Child's Senses'. Peter who is currently working with Goodstart (ABC) and C&K) on implementing gardening programs in their childcare centres, has a wealth of knowledge and information to share on the wonderful benefits (aside from produce) that being in the garden can bring to both you and your children but especially the awakening in the developing child.

While this workshop is Free, we would appreciate you advising us if you wish to attend.
